JEFFREY CROCKETT
l
Head of Voice at American Conservatory Theatre
in San Francisco
l
BREATH AND MOVEMENT
l
Breath that comes and goes on its own is always shifting and changing, connecting us with our inner life and the impressions of our outer world. Participants will work with breath in its uncontrolled state to experience meaning and expressiveness from sensing the possible shapes, directions, qualities of breath that remain in contact with the unconscious.

KATHLEEN MCNENNY
l
Julliard School - NYC
l
THE FREEDOM OF THE MASK
l
The goal is to cover the actor in order to uncover. The mask conceals the wearer, but also reveals. This safety behind the mask functions as a "permission-giver" and allows the actor to go beyond what is comfortable and familiar into the unknown and dangerous. The actor is looking to surprise themselves and to live in the moment and to truly experience what it means to listen. When fully engaged in the work the Mask the actor disappears and a new life enters the actor with tremendous ease. It is a highly rewarding experience, and as much fun to watch as it is to play.

This is a "hands on" class that will explore moment-to-moment techniques to examine the relationship between the "aggressor" and the "victim". This workshop is also intended as an instructional tool on executing the illusion of stage violence safely and effectively.
